My Official Bio & Some Random Facts

Taylor Bennett is a dandelion-wishing, world-traveling lover of Jesus who also really hates talking about herself in the third person. So, even though she knows that “about the author” sections are usually written that way, she’s going to stop.

Let me reintroduce myself: I’m a small girl fueled by big dreams and an even bigger God. I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something special with my life, and I put my trust in the Lord to show me what that would be. He answered by giving me a love for writing; just days after I turned seventeen, I received a three-book contract for my contemporary young adult Tradewinds series. As I wrote those books, I began to feel the Lord placing another calling on my heart: nonfiction.

I began writing devotions, which have been featured in The Upper Room’s DevoZine and the Keys for Kids Unlocked publication, as well as an article about my journey that appeared in Focus on the Family’s fall 2019 issue of Brio magazine.

After I gradated high school, however, I began to feel stuck. I wasn’t sure what God wanted from me next. Taking a gap year, I set off to write more books and travel the world. I visited four European countries as well as Hawaii before the Lord revealed my next calling—college! I’m currently a student at Western Governor’s University, where I’m pursuing my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

But no matter how crazy life gets or how many finals I have to study for, I can’t stop coming back to the one true passion the Lord has laid on my heart: writing. It’s my ultimate goal to show girls just like me the incredible work God can do through one open heart–one willing person. I want to show girls how they, too, can let God lead them on the journey of a lifetime.
